“Tonga Cable Limited Annual General Meeting for the Financial Year 2024/2025”
The Ministry of Public Enterprises announces the successful completion of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Tonga Cable Limited (TCL) for the Financial Year (FY) 2024/25.
The AGM was held at the Ministry’s Conference Room on Thursday 12th February, 2026 and brought together shareholders and key stakeholders to review the performance and governance of TCL. The shareholders of TCL comprise the Government of Tonga as the majority shareholder, Tonga Communications Corporation Limited (TCC), and Digicel Limited. The AGM was chaired by the Minister for Public Enterprises (representative of the Majority Shareholder for TCL), Hon Siaosi ‘Ofa ki Vahafolau Sovaleni.
The meeting focused on the adoption of the Audited Annual Report for the FY 2024/25, the declaration of dividends based on the audited financial performance, and the appointment of the External Auditor for the FY 2025/26.
Shareholders formally adopted the Audited Annual Report for the FY2024/25 and approved the declarations of 50% of the recorded Net Profit after Tax (NPAT) of $2,664,008 ($1,332,004) as dividend to be paid to the shareholders for the FY2024/25.
In addition to these key agenda items, the AGM included discussions on strategic and operational matters aimed at strengthening performance, enhancing accountability, and ensuring the continued delivery of efficient and sustainable services.
Present at the AGM were Members of the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer for TCL, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry, and Senior Management for TCL and the Ministry.
The Ministry reaffirms its commitment to strong corporate governance, transparency, and prudent oversight to ensure that PEs operate effectively and in the best interests of the Government and the people of Tonga.
