“Ports Authority Tonga (PAT) Annual General Meeting for the Fiscal Year 2024/2025”

The Ports Authority Tonga (PAT) successfully convened its Annual General Meeting for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/2025, presided over by the Hon. Minister of Public Enterprises, Hon. Siaosi ‘Ofa ki Vahafolau Sovaleni, along with participation from senior officers of the Ministry of Public Enterprises. This meeting served as a platform to review performance, governance, and strategic priorities.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman Mr. Michael A. Bloomfield delivered a presentation highlighting PAT’s achievements, challenges, and opportunities. He emphasized that PAT continues to adapt and innovate to meet Tonga’s development needs, aligning its operations with national objectives.
The financial results were shared, showing that PAT achieved a Net Profit After Tax (NPAT) of TOP $730,154, reflecting operational resilience. Of this profit, 75% was declared as a dividend and paid to the Government of Tonga, reinforcing PAT’s role in supporting national revenue.
The AGM formally adopted the Annual Report and audited financial statements, underscoring the importance of transparency and accountability. This adoption reassured both the government and stakeholders of PAT’s compliance and strategic alignment.
The Minister commends the Board for its leadership and oversight, which have contributed significantly to PAT’s strong performance.
In conclusion, the AGM reaffirmed PAT’s role as a resilient public enterprise, committed to delivering financial returns, strengthening governance, and providing essential services in line with government priorities and stakeholder expectations.
