18th Feb, 2026: Annual General Meeting for Tonga Water Board for the Financial Year 2023/2024 and Waste Authority Limited for the Financial Year 2024/2025

The Ministry announces the successful completion of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Tonga Water Board (TWB) for the Financial Year (FY) 2023/24 and Waste Authority Limited (WAL) for the Financial Year (FY) 2024/25 that was held on the 18^th February, 2026 at the Tonga Power Limited Board Room, Matatoa.

The meeting, which was chaired by the Minister for Public Enterprises (Shareholder representative), Hon. Siaosi Ofa ki Vahafolau Sovaleni, focused on the adoption of the Audited Annual Report for the FY2023/24 (TWB) and FY 2024/25 (WAL), the declaration of dividends based on the audited financial performance, and the appointment of the External Auditor for the FY2024/25 (TWB) and FY 2025/26 (WAL).

A key outcome of the AGM was the declaration and mutual agreement of a dividend payout equivalent to 50.5% of TWB and 74.5% of WAL’s Net Profit after Tax (NPAT) for the year to be paid to the shareholder – Government of Tonga.

Present at the AGM were members of the Board of Directors, the CEO Assistant & Board Engagement, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry, and Senior Management for the Ministry.

The Shareholder commended the Board, Management, and staff for their dedication and prudent stewardship, which have enabled TWB and WAL to achieve positive outcomes despite operational challenges they had come across during the financial year. 

TWB and WAL remains committed to strengthening service delivery, enhancing environmental sustainability, and supporting national development priorities in the years ahead.
